Yanina Wickmayer Crowned 2009 Ladies Champion

Yanina Wickmayer was today crowned the Ladies' Champion at the NRP Rubik Nordic Masters 2009.

Wickmayer, making only her second competitive appearance following a suspension, brushed aside the challenge of Johanna Larsson winning 6-4, 6-0.

The Belgium number one didn't drop a match in her semi-final against Ulrikke Eikeri and after a close first set against Sweden's Larsson she again showed her power and strength dominating the second set to take the title.

"It was great to be back on court and playing, and to win the title is a bonus as well," said Wickmayer who is currently ranked No. 16 in the world.
